The 3M Solution
3M™ Paint Protection Films protect automotive paint and other vulnerable surfaces from rock chips, scratches, bug damage, road tar stains, automotive fluid stains, and punishing outdoor weathering — including harsh ultraviolet (UV) radiation. 3M ScotchGuard Paint Protective Film is a virtually clear film designed to reduce stone chipping and bug damage on painted surfaces. It offers equal protection on new or used vehicles when applied to fully cured painted surfaces.
 
The Application & Removal Process:

Step 1: The 3M Sheet is laid out to fit your vehicle using a specialized plotter. Once this material is cut  to your vehicles’ unique specifications, a 3M-trained technician applies this shield to your vehicle.
 
Step 2: Once the 3M sheet is installed, a nearly invisible coat of film is protecting your car from: rock chips, weathering, nicks, and paint fading. This material - unlike it’s competitors - is guaranteed not to yellow, crack, ruin your paint job - or simply peel off.
 
Step 3: If needed this material can be removed as easy as one, two, three. Although it is not suggested to attempt removal yourself, it is possible. If desired, film can be removed at any time by picking up a corner of the film and pulling the film off the vehicle surface at a 90-degree angle. If the film has been applied for a long time, or if the film and vehicle are cold, a heat gun or hair dryer may be used to soften the adhesive, allowing easier removal. We recommend you just come back to us to have the product removed.

Q. Does Scotchguard™ Paint Protection Film resist yellowing?
A. Yes, it resists yellowing because the film is constructed of thermoplastic urethane, a tough, conformable material that is covered by a clear coat layer. The film and clear coat layers contain UV protectants to counteract harmful ultraviolet rays that can cause yellowing.

Q. Can Scotchguard™ Paint Protection Film be used on headlights, foglights or windshields?
A. No, the Department of Transportation does not allow any film of any kind to be put on headlights, foglights or windshields.

Q. How is Scotchguard™ Paint Protection Film maintained?
A. Once applied, refrain from washing the vehicle in an automated car wash for 24 hours.
Washing after that time presents no problem, and no special care need be taken for the film.
